Aqaba Cruiseship Port

Aqaba Tourist Information Center

Aqaba Tourist Information Center

Question: We'll arrive by cruise ship to the port of Aqaba. Having visited Jordan previously, Petra etc, we would like to spend the day in Aqaba.

The cruise company tell us that they do not provide a shuttle bus from the port into the town.

We enjoy walking and would like to know if it is possible to walk what appears to be the short distance from ship to town via King Hussein Way.

Yes, the distance between the Main Port and the downtown of Aqaba is not very long, you can easily walk on the main street or alongside the seashore, starting from the big flagpole.

You can find a map of this area here as well as some more information about the Port of Aqaba.

Last year (2016) there used to be shuttle buses taking cruise ship passengers to the Aqaba Tourist Information Center that is located in the center of Aqaba. (I'm not sure if these buses are provided by the cruise ship companies or the by the city of Aqaba, though.)

Wishing you a nice day in Aqaba!
